Get ready. The e-Cards are coming. You know what I mean; email from a “friend” that wants to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving or a Merry Christmas. Somewhere in that email is a link that says “Click Here to see your wonderful greeting”. And then when you click it, who knows what’s going to happen.
These kinds of emails can carry anything from a Trojan that duplicates the email to everyone in your address book… to a destructive virus that proceeds to wipe out your hard drive. DON’T OPEN THEM.
They can look really innocent and often pique your curiosity. Just remember, if you didn’t expect it, DON’T OPEN IT.
Use real greeting cards. Use the Internet to send them.
Much better to , a real card. You can do it right from your computer at your desk. No trips to the post office, no stuffing envelopes, no stamps. Just pick a card, customize it with your message, and press submit.
